Our mission is to foster a love of the performing arts in the hearts of Kansas City metro area youth while developing their feelings of confidence and self-worth and building life skills in a safe and nurturing environment.  We seek to enrich the culture and lifestyle of the region through the development of our community’s future arts advocates.

ABOUT US

Theatre at Vis has been producing exemplary youth theatre for over 30 years.  Annual productions include a summer youth musical, as well as a Lenten production of Stations, a musical based on the Stations of the Cross, as part of its association as a ministry of Visitation Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri.

Hundreds of young performers, ranging from 9-19 years old, have graced the stage of Theatre at Vis productions over the years.  During that time, young performers have graduated and returned as adult volunteers, set builders, and more.  Every summer, the parents, siblings and extended “TAV Family” work to build the sets, gather the props, stock the concessions, and more.  It is truly a community effort!

Theatre at Vis is financially independent and relies solely upon corporate sponsorships, private donations, and an almost entirely volunteer staff to continue its work from year to year.
